How to configure Skype Connect service with Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway


The following page gives you an overview on how to send voice messages with Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway using Skype Connect service. Skype Connect enables businesses to add Skype service to their PBX system. This way, they can reduce costs and make communication easier. Combining Skype Connect with Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway will result in a stable, reliable system with great performance. On this page, you can learn how to create a Skype Manager account, how to set Skype Connect service and how to configure it with Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway.

Configuration guide

Step 1: Create a Skype Manager account

As a first step, you need to join Skype and create a Skype account. You can do this on Skype's homepage by clicking on 'Join Skype' (Figure 1) and 'Create an account' (Figure 2). You can create a Skype account by giving your name and e-mail address.

In order to access Skype Connect settings, you need to be signed into Skype Manager. Click on 'Skype Connect' item under 'Business' on the toolbar (Figure 3).

To access Skype Connect settings, click on 'Get it now' on the right (Figure 4).

To sign in, click on 'Sign into Skype Manager' (Figure 5).

Type your password and Skype name to sign in (Figure 6).

When you sign in for the first time, you need to fill in a form about your company (Figure 7).

You will get an e-mail with an activation link to Skype Manager. Click on the link to activate your Skype Manager account (Figure 8).

After the activation of your Skype Manager account, you need to buy Skype credits in order to use the service. You can do this by clicking on 'Buy Skype Credit' (Figure 9).

Click 'Features' in the toolbar to start Skype Connect settings (Figure 10).

Click on 'Skype Connect' to create a new profile (Figure 11), to continue click on 'Create a new profile' (Figure 12).

Choose a profile name and click on 'Next' to continue (Figure 13).

Here you can see your profile's registration details, including your username, password, Skype connect address and port number (Figure 14). It is suggested to make notes of these details, since you will need them to set up Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway.

Click on 'Profile Settings' (Figure 15) and as a first step, buy a channel subscription to activate your profile. Enter the number of channels you need. Channel subscriptions are the amount of concurrent calls you would like to use with your SIP profile. After that, you need to add Skype credit to your profile, to be able to initiate calls (Figure 16).

Now you are finished with setting up your Skype Manager profile.

Step 2: Configuring Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway

Open Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway and sign in (Figure 17).

To configure your service provider connection, click on 'Add service provider' (Figure 18).

Select 'VoIP Autodialer' connection in the list and click on 'Install' (Figure 19).

To configure the connection, choose 'Use SIP account' option and fill in the data of your Skype Connect service. Click on 'OK' (Figure 20).

Step 3: Message sending

To create a message, click on 'Compose' in Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway (Figure 21).

As a next step, select which type of voice message would you like to send. You can choose between prerecorded voice message and text to speech message (Figure 22).

In this example, I have selected sending text to speech message. To create a message, add the phone numbers and type your message. You can send your message by clicking on 'Send' (Figure 23).

In the main window, you will see 'Message accepted for delivery' (Figure 24).

To check your sent message in Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway, click on your username in 'Users/Applications menu (Figure 25). Here you can check your messages.

By clicking on 'Sent' (Figure 26), you can see your outgoing messages (Figure 27).

Conclusion

If you followed these steps, you have now successfully set up your Skype Connect service with Ozeki NG - SMS Gateway. With this configuration, you will not only get a stable and reliable system, but you will also be able to reduce the costs of corporate communication and increase efficiency.
